Since 1985, we have given young mothers the opportunity to work towards their goals in a supportive, learning-centered environment while parenting their young children.
At Rose of Sharon our clients participate in parenting courses and counseling while they are surrounded by other young women in similar circumstances. Our clients learn about motherhood, work towards their goals, and have life-changing shifts in perspective about their futures and about the possibilities that lay ahead.
Some of our clients come to us to complete their high school education in our on-site classroom, and others come to learn about nutrition, parenting and motherhood. Babies are looked after in the Child Development Center as young mothers complete their high school diploma – a service that underpins the success of their studies.
Rose of Sharon Services for Young Mothers is a not-for-profit, charitable organization providing support and educational services to prenatal and parenting young women up to the age of 29 across York Region.
With the generous support of our community, we are able to enhance the lives of young women and their families. We are the only agency providing these services in the region and the need for our services continues to grow each year.
